After OBS, there were several other A*STAR pre-departure activities, as well as our own informal gatherings. FM and I thus got much more interactions with each other, and quickly we were great buddies. Then a bunch of us decided to do some night cycling! – Jas

9 July 2004 @ Night cycling around Singapore

Throughout the night, FM and I rode together at the back of the group, and a simple normal cycling trip turned out to be an exciting, fun and amusing experience of zipping down empty roads, joking, singing and chilling out/taking random pics during our breaks.

Our little game (that FM invented) – “3-7”:
“3-7” refers to the highest gears on the front and back wheels. The game was simple – See a nice long stretch of clear road, switch up to “3-7”, and ride as fast as you can at the count of 3 to see who wins! More importantly was to enjoy the thrill of speed and the cool gush of wind against our faces. =) We would race in front of the entire group, then rest and relax till we dropped to the back of the group again. =P

Perhaps it was then that the initial sparks flew!

I initially started out much further front in the group, and then realized that FM had volunteered himself to stay at the back to herd everyone. Something in me decided to drop back and ride with him. Good company to enjoy the night ride ahead =) and besides, somewhere in my heart was perhaps wondering if I had some out-of the ordinary liking for this cute guy… of cos, I never regretted my decision! ^_^
